The Apple of Your Eye
Our teaching all week this week is on the Father Heart of God. Here is a brief recap of today's lecture:
- Merciful - Psalm 145:8 - The Lord is gracious & compassionate, slow to anger & rich in love. He is spring-loaded with forgiveness. (See Hosea 11:8-11)
- Faithful - Psalm 139:17-18 - His thoughts for us outnumber the grains of sand (that's a lot of thoughts), and in Isaiah 49:15-16 He's inscribed our name on the palm of His hand.
- Generous - I will later share a devotional Sandra did on all the thing's God gives us. It is amazing
- Affectionate - See Song of Solomon
- Accepting - Romans 5:8 - While we were sinners, Christ died for us. God wants us! Interesting to note, when Jesus refers to our father in Matthew 5-7, he doesn't refer to God as "his father," or, "the father," he refers to Him as, "Your Father." Now that's good news!
Father, I am amazed by the fact that I am the apple of your eye (Psalm 17:8). I pray that I may live with the confidence of knowing that.
